CNC Machine Tool >> Grinder >> Toyoda GU4-100R
Toyoda designed the GU4-100R so production teams could rough, finish, and face a shaft without pulling it out of the centers. The turret wheelhead indexes between straight, angular, and optional ID spindles, and Toyoda's GC-32V control walks operators through each rotation with stored dress data and offsets. Toyoda's STAT bearing keeps the wheelhead floating on an oil film, so size control stays predictable even when the grinder sits idle overnight.
The 12.5 inch swing, 5.9 inch center height, and 39.37 inch distance between centers give you enough travel for automotive shafts, compressor rotors, or longer medical tooling. Dual 18 inch wheels (1.5 inch straight and 3 inch angle) deliver the stock removal Toyoda advertised in its GU4 launch notes, and the Marposs sizing gauge plus Toyoda shoulder gauge from the Raco Machinery listing keep the machine ready for PPAP-level documentation.
Each GU4-100R JS Peters brokers includes coolant filtration, SBS wheel balancing, rotary dressing, and automatic lubrication, so you can load it with a cart now and add a robot, gantry, or pick-and-place system later using the GC-32V I/O. If you already run GL or Select-series Toyodas, the manuals, spare wheels, and gauging interfaces carry over.

Toyoda GU4-100R FAQ
The turret uses a positive locking mechanism, so swapping from the straight wheel to the angle wheel or ID spindle is a matter of loosening the clamp, rotating to the detent, and running the stored dress cycle—usually under five minutes once operators know the sequence.
Yes. Gauge targets and offsets for Marposs or Toyoda shoulder probes are saved per program, so you can monitor trends and apply automatic compensation directly in the control.
We coordinate inspections, video demos, rigging, freight, and start-up support with Toyoda-trained technicians, and we can evaluate trades or purchase your surplus GU, GL, or Select series grinders to keep the project simple.
